A Christmas Letter From Shona

Hello and Merry Christmas! I hope you’re all having a fabulous day!

Christmas can bring up so many emotions – it can be the most wonderful time of the year celebrating for some and for others it can be a difficult day to get through for whatever reasons. I hope however you plan to celebrate or not, that you look after yourself today and give yourself the gift of kindness.

Take a moment throughout your day whenever you need it to breathe.

Everyone’s holiday traditions are different.

For me, Christmas is the most magical time spent with my family and loved ones.

Christmas Eve is a chance for us all to rest and relax together before the big day.

Throughout the day we’ll have delivered any last Christmas gifts to those of our friends or family members that aren’t spending Christmas Day with us, and I’ll have finished all the Christmas food and drink prep ahead of today along with any last-minute adjustments to my Christmas table.

We then chill in the house having a takeaway from our local Chinese or Indian restaurant, afterwards we all cuddle up on the sofa watching a classic Christmas movie in our new pyjamas with a glass of fizz in hand.

I’m not sure about you but I get so excited for Christmas and adore hosting. My family mean the world to me and having them surround me on the day enjoying delicious food and making memories is just something I treasure.

On Christmas morning even though my girls are much older now they still wake us up early and then we open up our presents! Then whilst my husband and girls tidy up all the wrapping from all the unboxing of gifts, I make us all a lovely brunch type breakfast with fresh coffee, fruit, yoghurts and pastries. Nothing too heavy or anything that needs cooking as I’ll be in the kitchen preparing our turkey dinner soon after.

Once all our guests have arrived and we’ve had dinner, the rest of the day is all about switching off, relaxing with our loved ones and indulging in the things we love the most.

Whether that be, enjoying a cocktail, ripping open that Terry’s chocolate orange that was in the Christmas stocking, going for long walks in the woods, a warming hot chocolate with whipped cream, playing board games, watching favourite movies in our PJs or so much more.

I’d love to know your Christmas traditions and how you’ll be spending your day.

Whatever you’re up to this festive season I hope you get some time to rest and recharge!

All that’s left for me to say is thank you so much to each and every one of you reading my Christmas letter, and to my amazing team for all your support throughout 2024, as without this ABWR would not be here!

Thank you for putting your faith in me and the ABWR team for another year!

We’re so lucky to get to work with the best of clients!

I’m so looking forward to welcoming you back into our treatment space in the new year along with Claire, Katy, and Heather. There may also be a few new additions over the next few months …. Exciting times for 2025!

You’re only as strong as your team and I’m the luckiest with ours!

Much Love,

Shona x
